Thurning Instruments Ltd.
Measurement Systems. We design and manufacture complete measurement systems based on our standard detectors and a range of isotope sources and X-ray generators.
We aim to offer the highest performance instruments available, with the best measurement resolution at the fastest measurement speed.
Systems are in use for:
|
Fluid density Two phase flows Hydraulic oil foaming Diffusion of oil through porous ceramic Film thickness of deposits from aerosols Rock and sediment core density Polar ice core density Magnesite block density Conveyor belt condition and loading monitoring |

What do you need to measure?
The list above is far from exhaustive. The measurement is made by detecting how much radiation is absorbed in the material you are measuring. If you know the density, you can find the thickness and vice versa.
If you would like
Thurning to propose an instrument for your measurement, please contact Richard Fortescue. We will need some information about your requirements, as follows:
What material or materials do you wish to measure?
What thickness and density are you expecting?
Will you need to measure through pipe walls, a conveyor belt or some other containment?
How fast is the measured material moving or changing?
Do you have a specific requirement for measurement resolution?
Please do not hesitate to ask for a performance estimate and a quotation. We use dedicated software to estimate what can be achieved, based on the physics of the measurement, the performance of our detectors and your requirements.
