Thurning Instruments Ltd. Products for Radiometric Measurement.

We are pleased to announce three additions to our range that will be available shortly:

XRF700 is an energy dispersive detector designed for applications like alloy compensation of X-ray thickness gauges.

RMS500F is a fast ionisation chamber based integrated detector, for precision X-ray gauging applications.

RMS500S is a medium speed ionisation chamber detector, for 241Am gamma gauges and low power X-ray gauges.

Descriptions of these new products can be found on our News page. Detailed specifications will be posted here when they are available.

Thurning Instruments' main products are the RMS1000 and RMS2000 X-ray and Gamma ray detectors for industrial measurement.

What can these detectors do for you?

Radiometric measurement, with X- or gamma rays, is used for measuring thickness or density remotely.

The method is NON-CONTACTING and NON-INTRUSIVE. It doesn't scratch the surface of a web product or disturb a flow in a pipe.

How do people use Thurning's radiometric measurement systems?

 Non-destructive testing.

 Multi-phase flow density measurement.

 Logging geological core samples.

Gauging web products (such as steel strip).

How does radiometric measurement work?
